Moot House

Moot House is a nice little restaurant that I always noticed and always wanted to go into yet never did until a little while ago. I was driving around with Mom looking for somewhere to eat and we decided to try it out. It was very nice, the waiters took care of us and we sat out by a large fire pit in the back. It was a very nice place to eat and wasn't busy so we were of top priority. Actually would be a good date spot. It was a romantic setting yet that wasn't in my experience as I was with my mom... Prices were good for what you get and a very enjoyable environment.

Island Grill

Island Grill has a sort of Hawaiian feel to it. Their food is very good and has a cool area. It is a mix between a bar and a restaurant. Island Grill is by Sunflower Market on Lemay and Drake. It has great burgers and American food. Decent prices as usual, not a place I would personally go to very often. It wasn’t too bad though. The relaxing atmosphere was kinda cool, not a formal place. It is not a place to go to for a date though, maybe just with a friend or sibling. My experience was alright overall.

Chik-Fil-A

I just went in to Chik-Fil-A two days ago. I hadn’t been there in a while because every time I go by and actually want to eat there it is Sunday… They gave me a free sample as well as a free coupon for another sandwich. They have great chicken at good prices as well as free stuff all the time. That’s the main reason I like it, I came in and got these free chicken nuggets wrapped in sweet bread that was quite excellent. Obviously it is already famous and everyone knows about it yet I find myself rarely ever going in, that will probably change as I have a free chicken sandwich coupon.

Castillon's

Castillon's is nice little Mexican restaurant. It is on College by best buy. They have excellent Mexican food at reasonable prices. The service wasn't too bad but it wasn't great either. It was simple and good. Castillon's is a nice place for a basic dinner with family or something. Not recommended for a date or anything romantic. It is nice and basic. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here however as it is not the best place you could go. The only way I would go here again was if I was right there and wanted Mexican food that was a little better than Taco bell.

Walrus Ice Cream

Walrus is in old town and is an ice cream shop. They make all their ice cream right there in the store unlike most. They have the best ice cream ever with lots of different original options. They are reasonably priced, and a great environment. It is also very kid friendly. All the ice cream is made there by the employees so it is delicious and fresh. The management is well done so you can walk in and get your ice cream fast, however they do tend to build up a line out the door. They are a great place overall though.

Wahoo's Fish Tacos

Wahoo’s is a fish taco place that opened up a little while ago down on Harmony, between Timberline and Ziegler. Wahoo’s was always my mom’s favorite place to eat when we lived in California. We would go there a lot. I never really liked it all that much but I have grown into it and like it a lot now. It is a new place and has a very nice set up. They have great tacos, both steak and fish. I am not much into fish tacos, which is what they are known for, so I go for steak. The pricing is decent for what you get. All the meals generally come with rice and beans. They are a great new place and have awesome management with a relaxed environment.

TCBY Frozen Yogurt

TCBY is also on college next to Joe's and Garbanzo. It is a frozen yogurt place (that's like ice cream if you didn't know), I believe they are actually the best in the nation or something like that. Anyway they are a little pricey for Ice cream but very, very good. It is self-serve so you simply walk in, grab a cup, and decide from the 20 or so different flavors. They have many seasonal ones like gingerbread, as well as the basic vanilla and decadent caramel flavors. You can also choose to add toppings from their 30 some options. They charge by the ounce so you decide how much you get. Highly recommended for a great dessert.

Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill

Garbanzo is a Mediterranean Grill that recently opened up. They have four options to start the meal: Pita, Plate, Laffa or Garbanzo Greens. From there you choose hummus, lettuce, all the sauces, and meats and so on. To be honest, when I first went in, it looked disgusting. Even while the guy was making my pita I was second guessing if I wanted it. It looked like a bunch of disgusting vomit like stuff thrown together in a piece of bread. Yet I went through with it. Asked what the lady recommended for sauces and wound up with a chicken pita with hummus, lettuce, some weird stuff, and cilantro sauce and tzatziki sauce. It looked gross but after trying it, I was amazed. It actually tasted incredible. It had a ton of flavor and was simply delicious. Prices were a bit steep but not too bad. It is over on college between Harmony and Horsetooth, right next to TCBY and Tokyo Joe’s.

Tokyo Joe's

Tokyo Joe’s is on College between Horsetooth and Harmony. It is a healthy Asian restaurant that is very good. They have a lot of sushi and bowls. You can create your own bowl choosing meat, sauce, veggies, and all that good stuff. They are reasonably price, around $7 for lunch and closer to $9 for dinner. They have good sized portions and are very good. Hard to tell it is healthy due to taste. It is brand new and just opened within a month I believe. There is also a TCBY frozen yogurt that will open right next to it very soon for good desserts. Stop by it is very good.

The Little Saigon Cafe

This place has some incredible oriental/Vietnamese entrées. They have it designed to share, you will choose a series of entrées between a group and put them on a plate. The Saigon Steak was my favorite with a great blend of spices and sauces. The texture was brilliant, also not too sweet or spicy. However, I also tried a spicy lemon chicken which was a sweeter and tangy chicken with great spice and flavor. The flavors are overwhelming and prepared exceptionally. Prices are also very reasonable for the large portions. Prices are at around $6 or so for lunch time, and about $8 or $9 for dinner. Well worth the visit and price for a great Vietnamese dining experience. It is located over by the Foothills mall, right next to the Mattress Outlet.

The Chocolate Cafe

The Chocolate Cafe is a somewhat new business that opened in Old Town, near the corner of College. They serve all kinds of desserts from cheesecake to chocolate raviolis and their signature Ultimate Chocolate Cake. The majority of the dishes are desserts; however, meal options have recently been added. The products range from about $7-$8 for a delicious dessert or$10 for a massive slice of Ultimate Chocolate Cake. They have very kind servers who interact and strike up conversations. The cafe consists of a very "laid back" environment, along with a professional cook and addictive flavor. I would highly recommend trying this cafe for any occasional, whether it be friendly or a family get together. They are always looking for new customers and interact in a friendly way.
